"I Am Roses" Good-bye

Today is bitter sweet for me as it's my final day as an I Am Roses design team member.  I've been designing for I Am Roses since April 2012! With the new year approaching I felt it was a good time to retire and let someone else share their love of creating with flowers.  I've had an amazing time designing with so many talented crafter from all over the world and creating life long friendships. Thanks to Bumma at IAR for all the beautifully handmade flowers I received every month! Every time a box arrived it was like opening a little bit of heaven! Thank you so much for your generosity! I'd also like to thank my dt coordinator Jo, for the amazing job she does and continues to do. I enjoyed being apart of the I Am Roses family and will greatly miss everyone.  Congratulations to everyone on the new 2014 design team! I can't wait to see what you create.

A good-by from the IAR blog.

We'd like to give a sad farewell to Designer Leslie Prinkki.

She has shared her beautiful I Am Roses creations since April 2012! THANK YOU! We wish her nothing but success in the new year to come. This is never a goodbye, more like see you soon!

It's Never to Late to Complete those Incomplete Albums

Life happens and yes, I fall behind on my scrapbooking.  Does this sound familiar? Surely I'm not the only scrapbooker out there that hasn't scrapbooked every picture.  I scrapbook all the time and have a huge library of albums documenting our family's life.  I tend to scrapbook our most current events, or mile stones. Does that sound familiar to you? Today I thought I'd share a few layouts and a look at what I accomplished during the month of November.  I set a goal to complete my middle son's baby album, he is now 10.  For the most part his album was semi complete for the first three months of his life. It's always been important to me to have all 3 of my kids baby photos in chronological order from birth to their first birthday.
I store all my pictures on my computer and only print photos as needed, so my first step was going through all his baby pictures and printing those which I needed to add to his album. I ended up printing close to 400 pictures! I decided project life style scrapbooking was what I wanted to do. I organized all the pictures and decided which photo's I wanted to scrap 12x12 layouts of then the rest went into pocket pages.  It took me about 2 hours to add all the photos into the pockets. A week later I had finished creating all the 12x12 scrapbook layouts and any journaling I needed to complete. I'm amazed at how fast I was able to complete my son's baby album!  It feels so good to finally have his baby album finished and on the shelf for everyone to enjoy!

Here's a look at my finished baby album and a few pictures of some of the pocket pages and 12x12 scrapbook layouts I did.

It's never to late to start finishing up those incomplete albums!
Thanks for stopping by and happy scrapping.

Getting My Craft On

Wow! I can't believe Christmas has come and gone, just like that! Sorry I've been MIA for a while, December seemed to consume much of my free time with shopping, concerts, birthdays, and just getting ready for Christmas. I hope this holiday season was a blessed one for you and your family. I'm already excited to start fresh in the new year and look forward to whats to come.

I actually have gotten some crafty time in while my kids are on winter break. They have been busy playing with all their new goodies, so this momma snuck away to my craft room to play with some new goodies.

I got some amazing new 3D stickers from Paper House, and I'm in LOVE. I highly recommend theses stickers if you want to add some dimension to your scrapbook layouts or cards. These stickers are so beautiful and will make people think you spent hours piecing together dies to create the 3D look.

First up is a Christmas layout from just a few days ago. Feels good to actually scrap something that current!

I used the Paper House 3D Christmas stickers and Carta Bella's Traditions paper kit.

I printed my pictures in black and white so I wouldn't have to worry about my paper not matching with what my kiddos were wearing. This is a little trick I do often when I want to scrap pictures that don't go well with the paper I want to use.

Check out that 3D dimension! WoW!

The next layout I created is of my little guy playing soccer.
Again I used some 3D Paper House stickers for soccer. They added that little something extra I needed to give my layout a boost.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my new scrapbook layouts. I look forward to creating more layouts with the other 3D Paper House stickers I got and will share as soon as I can.

Wishing you a blessed 2014!

Embellishing My Dec. Daily with I Am Roses

Todays my monthly turn for the I Am Roses design team. I'm excited to share a glimpse of my December Daily from 2012 with you. Yes, I'm a bit behind but it's all good. I'm already taking my photos for this years Dec. Daily and I can't wait to start putting that album together. If you're like me December is super busy!!! I hardly have any extra time, so I knew since I needed to finish up my Dec. Daily from last year, that I needed to keep it simple!!! I love simple.
For the most part, this Dec. Daily is complete. All my daily photo's are in place, I just needed to add a  little something extra to jazz up a few of the inside pages and the outside cover.
If you've been following along with me this month, you've noticed I've been creating with a lot of Christmas colored and themed I Am Roses flowers flowers. Today's project is no exception. Once again I wanted to share how you can use the beautiful Christmas themed/colored flowers available at iamroses.com in your Dec. Daily.

Heres' a look at the cover of 2012 Dec. Daily.

I Am Roses flowers used:

Like I said above, I wanted to keep my pages simple but I also wanted to jazz them up a bit.
I used a few small crotchet flowers with pearls and some red and white poinsettia flowers from I Am Roses to add that bit of jazz to some of my pages.

By adding just a few iamroses flowers to my pages, I now have simple gorgeous embellished pages.

Thanks for joining me today, I hope I have inspired you to keep things simple during the month of December and don't forget to check out the iamroses shop for all your flower needs.

Happy Scrapping and Happy Holidays.

For my holiday inspiration project I created a burlap wall canvas.

I love, love, love this project and I'm very happy and thrilled with the way it turned out!
I can't wait to make more!

Here's how I created my holiday burlap canvas.

step 1) I gathered all my supplies, which include a 12x12 burlap canvas, acrylic paint in red, gold and black, (didn't use any black in the end) red doily, I Am Roses flowers, a few sprays of holly berries and 2 gold flat snowflake ornaments.

Step 2 and 3) I cut out an image I chose on my Silhouette Cameo,  an adorable deer.  I used 12x12 white card stock to create a stencil mask. I then used only the outline from the image my Cameo cut and placed it over my burlap canvas and held it in place with washi tape.

Step 4) I decided to paint my deer, red.  I used a small foam brush and and my acrylic paint. I poured a small amount of the paint out onto my mat and made sure not to overload my brush with too much. I found daubing with the foam brush worked best. I then waited a few minutes for it to dry and went around the edges with just a little bit of gold paint.

Step 5) Time to decorate my R77, I Am Roses flowers. I decided to add a bit of gold to my white R77's. Once again I just used my foam brush and daubed the gold paint on.

Step 6) After my burlap canvas was dry I started layering the rest of my embellishments onto the canvas to get an idea of what and where I wanted things to go. I then decided I wanted more flowers and to add a bit more color. I decided to add a few small crotch flowers with pearl centers and a red and white R21's.

Step 7) Using hot glue, I adhered everything into place. I just love clustering I Am flowers together!!!

Altered Chalkboard

Today I'm sharing my November iamroses design team project with you. If you keep up on whats trending lately you already know that chalkboard is hugely in right now. You can see chalkboard in home decor, accessories for the home especially in the kitchen and scrapbooking.

I found this cute $1 chalkboard hanging at my local target and knew I had to alter it!

Here's a look at the before.

I knew I wanted to change up this chalkboard Christmas countdown for my home. I wanted to add a bit of sparkle and holiday flare to it. I added a pleated trim all the way around the chalkboard along with some mesh bling to give it that holiday sparkle. I replaced the burlap string for the hanger with lace and added a lace bow to the center to make it more of a focal point.
I finished off embellishing by adding some beautiful iamroses flowers
I added the following flowers:

Here's a look at my altered chalkboard Christmas Countdown. I just love the way it turned out!

IAR November Challenge

Thanks for joining me today! It's that time again! Are you ready for another IAR challenge? I had so much fun creating this months inspiration project for this Challenge. Don't forget to stop by the IAR blog for all the details on how you can enter this months challenge.

For this challenge I had the pleasure of working with the I Am Roses flowers GB4's. I altered a tin which actually has a mini album inside it. I wanted to showcase my daughter when she was a baby and the GB4's were a perfect embellishment. I used several of these flowers to add that bit of softness and draw out the baby pink color. To add just another touch of color but not to take away from the GB4's I added in a few white cherry blossoms. I love that you don't always have to add a ton of flowers to your projects or even add a wide variety of iamroses that just a few can really make a statement.

Be sure to stop by the IAR blog for all the details on how you can enter this months challenge and don't forget to check out all the beautiful flowers IAR has to offer.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Scrapping!

Halloween Card

Thanks for stopping by today! WoW! It's still hard for me to believe it's already October. But then reality sits in when our weather shifts and it's a bit chilly out and cloudy. We even had a dusting of snow already! Ugh...

To brighten things up and to keep my mind off of winter being around the corner, I created a fun Halloween card for this months IAR dt project.

I usually color with my Spectrum Noir markers, but have noticed over half of my collection is in need of re-inking. I ended up coloring todays project with my very limited collection of Copics with I actually love, but am limited to the colors I use. With that being said, I'm very pleased with my end result!

I love adding I Am Roses to my cards! Especially R77's. They just pop off the card. They are so stunning and beautiful in person.

I always seem to add S10's to my projects. They are the cutest flowers of all. Just look at how tiny they are! They are so adorable. To add a bit of softness to my card I added two crotchet flower, a large lavender flower and a deep purple small crotchet flower clustered.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my dt project this month for IAR.
Be sure to stop by the I Am Roses shop where you can find all the flowers I used and many more.

Happy Scrapping
